Federal judge leads chase on police to her house, then claims protection by being on her own property

After more than three weeks of investigation, the Lake Charles, Louisiana Police Department has concluded its investigation into a Jan. 23 incident involving U.S. District Judge Patricia Minaldi. Police reviewed in-car video camera footage, witness statements and officer observations, as as a result, charged Judge Minaldi with first-offense DWI. Minaldi was originally taken into custody and transported to police headquarters, where she was issued an open-container citation.

Bear is recovering from serious injuries after being dragged behind truck
An East Texas man is behind bars after police found an empty dog collar attached to a cord tied onto the back of his truck. And the dog, a pitbull mix breed, was fortunately located and treated for several injuries. He is now recovering. Roger Whitmill, 47, of Lufkin was stopped by Lufkin Police this past Saturday night after a concerned citizen called in a report of a man dragging a dog behind his truck down the road.

Religion in school is the norm to me. Strange as that sounds, it's just the way it is. From pre-K until first grade, I attended an Episcopal school and then from second grade through 12th grade, I attended Catholic school.

Having three teenage children, I am at least once in each day's time struck by how different things are now from when I was a teenager. For us, the big thing was the advent of the cordless phone and call waiting. And the fax was pretty big too. Now, the big things are the latest app which lets you video chat anonymously... or "snapchat" snapshots of yourself with instant viewing from the other end and the ability to almost instantly delete the picture as well.

Our basset hound dog, Fred, lays around a lot. He sleeps a lot. Rests a lot. Relaxes a lot. But he is more than just a lazy dog. He runs, plays, chases cats, chases toys, chases kids, chases his tail... even if it is for just a few minutes at a time. Just wanted to let people know this.

Deadly crash involves SUV and school bus in South Louisiana

Four people in a vehicle died when it crashed into a school bus carrying members of a South Louisiana baseball team yesterday.

Several Lafayette High School baseball players suffered concussions, facial cuts and broken noses in a crash this morning involving the school bus carrying them to a scrimmage in Berwick. The driver and passengers of the other vehicle in the crash were not so fortunate.
